Actor Sherman Hemsley Of 'The Jeffersons' Passes Away At 74!

According to several reports, it looks like actor Sherman Hemsley has passed away. TMZ is reporting that the actor passed away at his El Paso, Texas, home; his cause of death is yet to be determined.

As we all know, Hemsley made a name for himself as George Jefferson, on the hit show The Jeffersons, which ran for a decade and is still on in syndication worldwide today. Hemsley never got back to the popularity of The Jeffersons but he went on to appear in a handful of other classic television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Hughleys.

What many don’t know is that he was an accomplished singer and recorded the 1989 single, “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.”
