Cedric The Entertainer Becomes The New Host Of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire'!

Comedy News

Cedric The EntertainerWe heard the following story over the weekend and it looks like it has become true; Cedric The Entertainer has become the new host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. According to several sources, it looks like the deal is a three year deal and calls for Ced to replace the once popular Meredith Vieira as the host of the syndicated show. Those same sources are stating that Ced’s pay day is close to what Vieira was making in the final years of her 11-season stint on the show.

We also discovered that the show which tapes in advance, will continue to air Vieira as host through May and repeats through the summer, with Cedric expected to take over in September.

As you already know Ced will reprise his other gig as The Soul Man on TV Land which is slated to begin filming its second season in several weeks and Ced will shoot his first season of Millionaire.

Now since Steve Harvey is the host of Family Feud and Now Ced has landed this gig, is the third member of The Original Kings of Comedy DL Hughley next to land a game show gig?

Also they both were from the Steve Harvey Show. The Kings of Comedy tour helped DL Hughley and the late great Bernie Mac both get TV shows too, as well as their sheer persistence in the game.

A lot of great things are happening in the TV world for Black folks these days; Arsenio returning to late night… the landscape is looking good. We gotta keep supporting each other’s shows.
