Comedy News

A couple of weeks ago we reported the news that The Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder was moving forward to release a half-hour live-action scripted comedy series titled Black Jesus on Adult Swim.

We also told you several of the other cast members which we discovered were comedians Charlie Murphy, John Witherspoon, and Corey Holcomb who were all going to join new comer Gerald “Slink” Johnson (of Grand Theft Auto V fame) as Jesus, living in present-day Compton, CA, on a daily mission to spread love and kindness throughout the neighborhood with the help of his small but loyal group of downtrodden followers.

Well today we discovered EXCLUSIVELY the other cast members of the show! We hear that Andrew Bachelor (probably best known as King Bach, especially on VINE) is joining the cast along with Andra Fuller, Angela Elayne Gibbs, Valenzia Algarin, Kali Hawk and Antwon Tanner are all also on board!

McGruder, who created the series, will serve as executive producer through his 5 Mutts Prods., along with writer-director Mike Clattenberg (Trailer Park Boys) and LEG’s Norman Aladjem and John Bravakis, while casting was done by Amber Bickham (Talent Overstock).
