Comedy News

It was announced yesterday via the OWN Network that they were going to renew Kym Whitley’s show titled Raising Whitley, for a second season.

The show, which follows Whitley and her collective of friends – whom she calls “The Village” – as they attempt to do something none of them has ever done before – raise a child together, hit a season high with its March 8th finale episode drawing 782,000 total viewers.

Raising Whitley is produced by Pilgrim Studios.

But the news doesn’t stop there; it was also mentioned that the OWN Network is going to renew Deion’s Family Playbook, from Edmonds Entertainment, Prime Time Media Ventures and Rogue Atlas Productions, as it follows player Deion Sanders and his dealing with his family and everyday life.

Deion’s Family Playbook has averaged 716,000 total viewers, making it the highest rated first season of a series among all reality shows in OWN history, the network stated.
