Luenell Gets A Skit On HBO's Funny Or Die & Jumps In 2 New Films!

Comedy News

We just discovered from our sources that comedian and actress Luenell Campbell, who is known professionally as Luenell has started to put together some serious projects and has them in the can- and they look great!

First up, we discovered that Luenell just sold a spec scrip to HBO for a skit that will premiere on the show Funny Or Die, which currently is broadcast on HBO. The skit is titled The Burn Unit and will be financed by HBO as it stars Elise Neal (The Hughleys fame), Anna Maria Horsford (of the show titled Amen), Paula Jai Parker (of Hustle & Flow fame), Marlon Young, and Heather Chadwell (of Rock of Love with Bret Michaels fame).

The skit,  written by Luenell and Ryan Shiriki (writer for the Jonas Brothers) was shot completely in and around the ‘hood- and even at Luenell’s house!

Anyway, Luenell has continued to work, as we hear that she is doing everything from films, to animation projects to include her stand up. For example, we hear that she is going to be on an episode of Boondocks this Sunday. Also, word has it that she will be going to Japan to hit the stage on a comedy show with comedians Mark Curry, Gary Owen, and Daniel Dugar, to perform in Okinawa in August. The show will be performed for the troops stationed at Camp Kinser and Camp Hansen.

Also, on the silver screen you can check out Luenell in the new films 35 & Ticking, starring Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, and Nicole Ari Parker, which is directed by Russ Parr. That’s not it- she even has another film titled Budz House with Wesley Jonathan and Faizon Love. Sounds like a great upcoming year.
