Yesterday Nick Cannon, Celebrity High Magazine and 3000 students from 39 high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District came together for an event titled Spotlight on Success which took place at the legendary Paramount Studios.
Paramount Studios was transformed into a block party where singing, dancing and spoken word performances occurred throughout the day leading up to V.I.P performances from Cannon’s Ncredible artists, Wonder Broz, School Gyrls, and Four Count.
Nickelodeon stars past and present as well as actors, recording artists and professional dancers graced the red carpet. Kel Mitchell (of Keenan & Kel), Poreotics (ABC season 5 Champions), Cierra Ramierez (of Girl in Progress opposite Eva Mendes), Mario, Omar Gooding, Shanice, Flex Alexander, Bentley Evans (Producer of Family Time, Bounce TV’s newest sitcom), The Girlie Gurlz, and Izzy Dixon (of The Izzy Show) to name a few graced the carpet.
The highlight and main event of the day aside from the amazing performances was the scholarship award ceremony and awards presented to the performers from various categories.
Sponsors were on deck to help partner for this vital cause: education and the arts. Wat-aah, Monster, Office Depot and additional vendors filled swag bags for all in attendance. Monster Ncredible headphones were given away every thirty minutes with additional scratch off prizes over the course of the day.
Cannon announced that he is working on a movie project with Kevin Hart and developing a series for Teen Nick, where he acts as Chairman. He encouraged the participants to get involved by giving back to their communities and strive towards reaching their goals now and not only when they make it big. He also went on to say, they could be among the group of stars he will possibly discover and work with in the near future.
All in all, it was a great event and it was sure to be something that inspired all of the teens that were in attendance.
