Comedy News

We just discovered from our friends over at AlwaysAList.com (a site founded and run by nationally syndicated host Jawn Murray) that comedians Sherri Shepherd and Rickey Smiley are going to pair and host 2014 Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

Check out the exclusive article posted today:

Comedians Sherri Shepherd and Rickey Smiley have been tapped to host the 2014 Stellar Gospel Music Awards, AlwaysAList.com has learned exclusively.

This will be the first time that the “The View” co-host Shepherd and nationally syndicated radio host Smiley have hosted the annual gospel music celebration.

Shepherd has been a presenter on the show twice. A gospel music enthusiast, Shepherd is responsible for having Gospel artists like Kirk Franklin, The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary and others on the show.

Smiley, who stars in the TV One sitcom “The Rickey Smiley Show,” is a former church musician who often plays gospel music on his popular mainstream morning radio show.

After several changes to dates and locations, producers of the show have finalized a day and venue. The show will take place on January 18, 2014 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn.

Last year’s Stellar Awards were hosted by chart-toppers Mary Mary and Franklin.

The Stellar Awards will air live on the UP Network before re-airing in syndication in local markets nationwide.
