Tyler Perry Debut’s New Animated Trailer For ‘Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love’!

Madea's Tough Love Art

A “Madea” animated movie is on the way, courtesy of Mr Tyler Perry of course; although, it appears that this one will not be released in theaters, but will instead head directly to the home video market (DVD, Digital, VOD, etc) – so says the press release I received late last month, but I’m just now finally getting to read.

Writer/director/producer Tyler Perry makes his first foray into family animation with the release of “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love,” arriving on DVD (plus Digital) and On Demand January 20, 2015 from Lionsgate. The film will be available on Digital HD one week earlier, on January 13.

In the film, fans of Madea can now watch all of their favorite characters, including Madea, Uncle Joe and Aunt Bam, in a whole new way! After a run-in with the law, Madea is sentenced to community service. Determined to do good for the ‘hood, Madea enlists Aunt Bam and Uncle Joe to try and save the Moms Mabley Youth Center from being shut down, using her trademark sass, wisdom, and toughness with love.

The adventure features the voices of Tyler Perry as Madea and Uncle Joe among others, as well as Cassi Davis as Aunt Bam, along with Rolonda Watts, Avery Kidd Waddell, William “Bootsy” Collins and Cree Summer.

“Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love” was actually not written nor directed by Perry, however. The story belongs to  Ben Chambers, and was scripted by Matt Fleckenstein, with Frank Marino directing.

Tyler Perry, Ozzie Areu and Matt Moore produced for Tyler Perry studios.

Madea fans can get a sneak peek of the movie starting tomorrow, November 25, when “Introducing Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Tough Love” debuts as a special feature on “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas” Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.

The “Madea’s Tough Love” DVD will include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, and a sketch-to-screen storyboard comparison that show Tyler in the recording studio voicing his characters.

UPDATE-Comedian James Hannah Passes Away!

This morning we woke up to a ton of emails about some extremely sad news. We discovered a friend of many years had passed away, comedian James Hannah. Many folks don’t know that Hannah was an amazing writer and a great comedian. As a former writer of The Humor Mill, this passing hits home pretty hard. We last spoke to him several months ago when he was talking about his TruthPasteTV  YouTube Channel, and at that time he had HUGE plans to bring several ideas to the table, some of them some great sketches he was planning…

Anyway, Hannah, from Chicago, was known for most recently for Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, The Steve Harvey Show, My Wife & Kids and many more shows. His stand up was seen on Comic View, Laffapolooza Martin Lawrence’s First Amendment and many more.

More details are coming on how he passed away. So far, word is that he had a heart attack but we are not sure just yet. We will fill you in as soon as we can.

May blessings to his family in this trying time.

***Update- After speaking to several of Hannah’s close friends and a couple of family members, Hannah collapsed at about 2AM in the morning. An autopsy has yet to have been done but family believes it may have been a stroke or a heart attack. Details soon. RIP James Hannah!

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart New Comedy On ABC Based On His Life Moves One Step Closer!

A couple of months ago, news reports emerged that there was a Kevin Hart series coming to ABC that was based on Hart’s life and career, and at the time, the show was still being assembled to move forward with a pilot commitment from the network. Well, last night reports emerged again about the show and it seems that the show is moving forward.

Check out the report below from Deadline:

ABC is adding a comedy to the three drama pickups tonight. The network has given a cast-contingent pilot order to a multicamera comedy from hot actor-comedian Kevin Hart and former Community executive producers Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan. This marks the first multi-camera pilot this year at ABC, which has only one multi-camera series on the air, Last Man Standing, and didn’t pick up any multicam pilots to series last season. The untitled Kevin Hart project, which had a put pilot commitment, is based on Hart’s life and stand-up. Written by Goldman and Donovan, it takes a candid look at the post-divorce life of a couple trying to forge a friendship for the sake of their kids, despite differences. 20th Century Fox TV is producing, with Hart, his manager Dave Becky, Goldman and Donovan executive producing. If the project goes forward, Hart likely will play a recurring role. Hart is one of the hottest comedy talents at the moment. Following the breakout success of his 2013 movie Think Like A Man, his latest feature comedy,Ride Along, broke box-office records with a huge Martin Luther King weekend opening.
