Tony Rock To Host New ‘All Def Comedy Live’ One Hour Special For HBO; To Be Produced By Russell Simmons, Stan Lathan & Jeru Tillman!

Comedy News

We discovered the news today that Russell Simmons, Stan Lathan and Jeru Tillman have moved forward with a new re-imaging of Def Comedy Jam with their new collaboration for HBO titled All Def Comedy Live.

Simmons, Lathan, and Tillman have boarded the project as Executive Producers of the show.

If you are  fan of comedy in the Los Angeles area, then you are probably familiar with the comedy landscape that All Def Digital produces, as they produce a show every Wednesday at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, which is produced by Tillman.

The comedians in LA have all been talking about this, and some have been misinformed thinking that Def Comedy Jam is coming back since some of the players are the same in Simmons and Lathan.

Anyway, the new one hour special will be hosted by comedian Tony Rock and will be broadcast on HBO sometime in the fall with the actual taping to be sometime in September. No word yet on the actual release date but there are some rumors that it will definitely be happening this year.

Stay tuned as the news on this is developing quickly; we will have more shortly.
