Sketch Spotlight- WATCH Tracy Morgan In This Unaired Halloween-Themed ‘SNL’ Sketch!

Sketches, Spotlight: Sketches / Stand Up

During Tracy Morgan’s triumphant return to the Saturday Night Live stage on Oct. 17, fans were treated to some of the comic’s iconic SNL characters — like the beloved Brian Fellows and Astronaut Jones — as well as some new characters who worked their way into our hearts.

Unfortunately the world didn’t get to experience the bizarre greatness of Morgan’s murderous Dr. Demon character — until now!

In this unaired sketch, Kyle Mooney and Vanessa Bayer opt for a Netflix and chill date on Halloween, but Mooney can’t keep his fear under control when they pop in the spooky horror flick Dr. Demon.

While Morgan’s screen time is brief as the drill-killing doc, it leaves an indelible mark. Seriously, Morgan should consider starring in something as a slasher villain! (Or Lorne Michaels could just produce a real Dr. Demon movie!)

The lengthy sketch quickly spirals out of control as we discover Mooney’s character is afraid of just about everything and that Bayer’s character likes knives and kidnapping. Yeah, it’s super bizarre.

At four whole minutes of random weirdness that seems to be an attempt at parodying slasher films and rom-coms, it makes sense that the sketch was cut from show, but at least now we all get to enjoy some Dr. Demon.

Morgan’s SNL appearance marked the first time the comic has performed since his near-death car crash in 2014 that left him in critical condition and with a traumatic brain injury.

The 46-year-old star absolutely aced his return to the SNL stage for one of the funniest episodes in recent memory. This was the second time Morgan, who was an SNL cast member from 1996 to 2003, has hosted the show. (He also hosted in 2009.)

ET caught up with Morgan after his return to the long-running sketch series, and the former 30 Rock star gushed about the experience. Check out the video below to hear what he had to say about taking the spotlight for the first time since his devastating accident.
